This position will be to work on projects for Rail & transit infrastructure (High Speed, Metro, LRT, streetcars) in our Toronto office. This is a new, active role.
In this exciting role you will be responsible for:
Assist our clients in the conceptual design definition, helping in technical feasibility and constructability
Ensure appropriate coordination with the rest of the disciplines, requesting inputs and providing results to others in timely manner
Review technical documentation and identify critical defects
Provide guidance to modelers for the BIM model and drawing production
Conduct periodic site reviews to ensure construction complies with design intent and codes
Develop structural details and construction plans
Review shop drawings and field services in design and construction
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in structural engineering
Master’s degree in Structural Engineering is an asset
Registered P. Eng in Ontario or in process
Minimum 5-7 years relevant experience in structural design and Rail & transit projects
Experience with complex construction projects involving P3, Infrastructure and/or underground LRT and subway
Technical competency in the design of structural building systems
Knowledge and understanding of structural design software such as SAP2000 and Robot Structural Analysis is expected
Experience with Microsoft Office, Navisworks, Bluebeam desirable
Knowledge and understanding of relevant design standards and codes
project management and coordination skills with a strong ability to provide leadership and motivation to project structural teams
