This position will be to work on projects for Rail & transit infrastructure (High Speed, Metro, LRT, streetcars) in our Toronto office. This is a new, active role.

In this exciting role you will be responsible for:

• Assist our clients in the conceptual design definition, helping in technical feasibility and constructability

• Ensure appropriate coordination with the rest of the disciplines, requesting inputs and providing results to others in timely manner

• Review technical documentation and identify critical defects

• Provide guidance to modelers for the BIM model and drawing production

• Conduct periodic site reviews to ensure construction complies with design intent and codes

• Develop structural details and construction plans

• Review shop drawings and field services in design and construction

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in structural engineering

• Master’s degree in Structural Engineering is an asset

• Registered P. Eng in Ontario or in process

• Minimum 5-7 years relevant experience in structural design and Rail & transit projects

• Experience with complex construction projects involving P3, Infrastructure and/or underground LRT and subway

• Technical competency in the design of structural building systems

• Knowledge and understanding of structural design software such as SAP2000 and Robot Structural Analysis is expected

• Experience with Microsoft Office, Navisworks, Bluebeam desirable

• Knowledge and understanding of relevant design standards and codes
