We are seeking A Dry Utilities Lead to join our Toronto team. This will be a hybrid role and be based in our downtown office 3 days per week with project office visits upon requests. Must be living locally to the Toronto area.
This position will be working on projects for infrastructures (such as local Heavy/Light Rail, Go Trains, Subway, streetcar). This is a new role and will be based at our Downton\east end office a combination of 3 days per week.
As the Dry Utilities Lead you will be responsible for:
Have good understanding of dry utilities systems, including but not limited to Hydro, telecommunications, gas, duct banks, conduit routing, joint-use corridors
Request, coordinate and Interpret utilities survey data with utilities survey team
read and review civil, structural, track, and electrical plans to identify integrated utility impacts
potentially to identify constructability constraints for urban rail/transit corridors and discuss construction methods with construction team
Lead third-party utilities coordination meeting with utilities owner company such as Toronto Hydro, Bell, Enbridge, Metrolinx and TTC
Assist our clients in design development and timely delivery of dry utilities scope, helping in technical feasibility and constructability.
Lead a dry utilities team for the design process and ensure design submittals meet project requirements and protocols.
Ensure appropriate coordination with the rest of the disciplines, requesting inputs and providing results to others in timely manner.
Present the alternatives, and the design to the contractor and the client.
Provide guidance to modelers for the BIM model and drawing production.
Manage sub-consultant performance, review invoices and discuss scope and variations with sub-consultants
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Civil engineering
Master’s degree preferred
Registered P. Eng. in Ontario is mandatory
Minimum 8-15 years relevant experience in dry utilities design and coordination for rail & transit projects
Experience with complex construction\engineering projects involving P3
