Role Description:
We are seeking a High-Speed Rail Track Lead Designer for a full-time, hybrid position based in Las Vegas, NV. The successful candidate will play a key role in the design and construction of the first P3 high-speed rail project in the United States — Brightline West, connecting Las Vegas to Rancho Cucamonga. Must be legally eligible to work in the United States already.
Responsibilities include managing the design and technical delivery of high-speed rail track systems, overseeing track construction logistics, coordinating with suppliers and contractors, and ensuring compliance with international and US standards. The role requires close collaboration with multidisciplinary teams and direct technical support to the client. This position offers a mix of in-office and remote work flexibility.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the design of high-speed rail track systems (+300 km/h), from preliminary engineering through construction delivery
- Develop track component specifications and interface requirements with civil works, systems, and rolling stock
- Manage procurement processes and coordinate with suppliers of track components and materials
- Oversee track construction logistics, staging, and quality control
- Ensure compliance with European rail standards (EN, TSI) and relevant US standards (AREMA, AASHTO, ASTM)
- Conduct risk assessments, feasibility studies, and implement mitigation strategies
- Prepare and review technical reports, design drawings, and construction documentation
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams (civil, structures, systems, operations) to ensure seamless project integration
- Provide technical support and guidance to the client throughout design and construction phases
- Mentor junior engineers and support knowledge transfer in high-speed rail design and construction best practices
