At this time, our office in Toronto is seeking a Construction manager to join.
This position will be to work on projects for Rail transit infrastructure (High Speed, Metro, LRT, streetcars, subway extensions etc.-candidates must be local to be considered) with the aim to lead Engineering Services During Construction (ESDC)
Responsibilities of the job:
- Define ESDC processes in collaboration with Project Manager,
- Supervise post-IFC design modifications,
- Supervise Key Performance Indicators associated with ESDC processes,
- Revise the replies to RFIs provided by technical team,
- Supervise Shop Drawings revision to align with Design Intent,
- Ensure appropriate resourcing,
- Attend meeting to stablish priorities with Construction Contractor,
- Raise Non-Conformities to Construction Contractor in collaboration with the technical team,
- Coordinate replies of technical team with Engineer of Records,
Requirements:
- More than 10 years’ experience as Engineer (Civil or Structural) or Architect,
- More than 5 years of experience as a Project Manager or Design Manager is mandatory along with having local project experience in the Toronto area
- P.Eng. or OAA registration is an asset
- Experience and knowledge of construction practices
- Must have experience in detailed design coordination
- PMP training is an asset
- Legally able to work in Canada and currently based in the greater Toronto area
- Sound technical/business judgment in the evaluation, organization, management, and experience of design activities
- Ability to work in a multi-disciplined team
- Ability to attend to detail and work in a time-conscious and time-effective manner
- Ability to report effectively with upper management, coworkers, clients, vendors, partners, contractors, etc.
- Willingness to learn, develop and apply new techniques, standards, and processes as well as to take on additional tasks as needed
