At this time our office is seeking a Senior Civil Engineer based in Toronto to join our team. This position will work on the urban integration part of projects for Rail transit infrastructure (High Speed, Metro, LRT, streetcars, subway extensions etc.-candidates must be local to be considered) while helping in the business development for public transportation sector in collaboration with our bridge engineering team.
Responsibilities of the job:
- Support the business development team for potential opportunities for highway bridges in collaboration with bridge engineering team across Canada
- Revise the design provided by subconsultant and/or back office,
- Supervise back office and subcontractors on the delivery of for construction design of urban integration (roads) in urban environment
- Supervise the development of the discipline within the project assigned reporting advance and schedule to the design management team,
- Potentially act as Engineer of Records for final design in case necessary / where that is not part of a subcontractor,
- Liaise with Clients reporting advance, design solutions, alternatives, risks.
- Provide technical input within multi-disciplinary design teams,
Requirements:
- 10-15 years of experience in Transportation and Urban integration locally
- P. Eng registration mandatory
- Must have experience in detailed design coordination
- Ability to work in a multi-disciplined team
- Ability to attend to detail and work in a time-conscious and time-effective manner
- Ability to report effectively with upper management, coworkers, clients, vendors, partners, contractors, etc.
- Willingness to learn, develop and apply new techniques, standards, and processes as well as to take on additional tasks as needed
- Excellent interpersonal, presentation and communication skills
- Excellent analytical and technical writing skills, excellent organizational, time management and critical thinking skills
- Fluency in English, both written and verbal is critical
